"Reach for the moon, and one day you might brush the stars!"

Rubrik was a glittering Pearlcatcher, born with treasure on his scales. When he was still a hatchling, he was sold to the Wind Flight by his parents. Rubrik's parents needed funds to continue their research and didn't want their son, and so they thought of a way to solve both problems at once; sell him. Not long after being put up for auction did Vapor find the small hatchling and take him home.

Being sold by his birth parents weighs on Rubrik from time to time. It's a painful fact that he's had to live with. He struggles with self-worth often, and tries to be as endearing as possible.

One thing he doesn't regret keeping from his parents, is their love for astrology. To nobody's surprise, his love of the universe is partially inspired by his own scales. He loves to learn whatever and whenever he can about the space above the world.

Rubrik is the founder of The Academy, a mysterious school for anyone who can find it. He tends to spend more of his time outside the Academy, but does help from time to time.

Currently going through a mid-life crisis. He's exalted and abandoned several of his children and isn't coping well. And his relationship with his wife Turi is just, lets say, not going so great at the moment. Oh wait, now they're divorced.

Has taken up a new interest in his granddaughter, great-grandchildren, and one of his great-great-grandchildren, but has a strained relationship with his own children, Shoto specifically.
