Brondelle, along with her mate Beltiln, founded a clan long ago known as Brondelle's Clan. She led them for a long time, with great love, care and solidarity, until an attack by a Shadetouched dragon known as Nebula attacked her clan, killing many and wounding others. They turned to their friend and neighboring clan for help, the dragons of Rabbithole Run, who saved and cared for those who remained. Brondelle, traumatized by the violence and her inability to save her friends, soon stepped down as clan leader, and her clan disbanded. However, many of her core clan members followed her and Beltiln as they sought a home with the dragons of the Run, who had moved to Dragonhome by then, fleeing the memories of carnage that had wracked both clans. Since Rabbithole Run was left behind, the Cottontail Clan was born. Brondelle is a kind and warm dragon with a great enthusiasm for cuddles. In contrast to her often humorless and analytical mate, she is gentle, kind and giving. Many of her most treasured friends, such as Madrigal, Khoshekh, Orphne, Siegfried and the Guardian sisters Gorgo, Dalek and String, are dragons who sought shelter in the clan short-term, but stayed as Brondelle went to great lengths to assist them in whatever they needed, be that medical help, emotional support, or the training required to follow their heart's desire. The clan was often poor due to Brondelle's great generosity, and the clan was small and tight knit. Though the Cottontail Clan is bigger, that hasn't changed. For a long time, Brondelle struggled with severe post-traumatic stress disorder, following the attack and destruction of her clan. She grew thin and sickly, and it was at that point that she gave up leadership of her clan. However, since then she has made incredible strides, and is looking happier and healthier than she has in a long time. She had no official job in the Clan, a decision by the leader Peony to allow her time to relax and recuperate. However, she has taken charge of hatchling adoption recently, and the work suits her well. She often travels to orphanages and other clans to collect hatchlings in need, and brings them back to the clan. Most turn to the clan's trainers, and pursue a life of exaltation, but some remain. It is due to Brondelle that the Eternal Hatchlings were brought to the clan. For reason unknown, rarely a hatchling will not grow to adulthood. Brondelle has taken in many such hatchlings, bringing them from a life of ostracism and isolation in a warm, loving home with others like them. Brondelle loves the oasis slowly growing around the cave mouth, it reminds her of her first home in the Everbloom Gardens. Although she does love the lands of Nature, there is a certain charm to life in the cave in the mud flats, and much to the amusement of everyone she is often caught enjoying a dust bath, rolling about on her back in a very undignified way, her thick fur full of silty dirt, having the time of her life. |
