Aries

The youngest and newest member of the Zodiac family, Aries still has a lot to learn but takes on every challenge with eager exuberance. Although he is often headstrong and stubborn, the young male wears his heart on his sleeve and is by far the most emotional of all the Zodiac dragons. His greatest fear is that others will think poorly of him or dislike him, and Aries often finds himself bending over backwards to make others happy. Given the diverse personalities in his new family, Aries is slowly learning to be less self-critical and to accept himself for who he is. Although he's never one to initiate a romantic relationship, many clan members find his vulnerable nature attractive, and the young male has no shortage of admirers.

Everyone in the Zodiac has welcomed Aries with open arms, except perhaps Gemini (but the Pearlcatcher never really welcomes anyone with open arms, does he?). He can most often be found in the company of Capricorn and Virgo, and most often butts heads with Taurus, the willful male being only slightly older than he. Taurus sees Aries' open displays of emotion as a weakness, and often behaves in an exceptionally macho manner when around him, knowing it will disturb the sensitive male. True to her nature, Libra is usually the one to restore the peace between them, and is extremely protective of Aries.

Although his mood can change dramatically and without warning, when Aries is in good spirits, his joyous outlook on life is contagious. Anyone around him on one of his "good" days can't help but feel optimistic themselves. Alas, light can not exist without the dark, and Aries "bad" days are dark indeed. The male is subject to debilitating depression which seems to strike without a moment's notice and can last for several days. During one of these periods, Aries cannot leave his den, and one of the other Zodiac members remains by his side at all times, offering what moral support they can. Although Libra has consulted countless healers on the matter, none have been able to provide treatments that work on an immortal being. Despite this, Libra still searches for a remedy that will alleviate Aries' suffering. Until then, she considers his protection her personal responsibility, and rarely lets Aries out of her sight.
