Biography

ARIAL
Abalone's Helper

The son of steampunk specialist Abalone, Arial is often seen running around his father, helping him to organize gears and bolts into boxes and shelves and whatnot around their soon-to-open shop. Sometimes he offers to help out his aunt Snowy, who allows him to do certain things around her personal den, but not tasks like handling her jewelry. ESPECIALLY not her cups. Not even Arial knows what the matter is with the cups.

Unlike his father and aunt, though, Arial isn't really that much interested in running an apparel shop or being a fashionista. Instead, Arial prefers history. He quickly picks up the little tidbits of knowledge he can get from Hywela, the clan's scholar, and her son, the genekeeper Ykarion. His favorite part of history is the Second Age - the creatures called "humans" intrigue his curiosity and twiddle his head fans. If not for his bloodline tracing back to Altitude the tailor - or if not for his grandfather's untimely death - perhaps Arial would have studied under Hywela instead of working with Abalone.
Bramblecrown Stoat Chosen Familiar: Bramblecrown Stoat "Purplethorn"
This little stoat was discovered when Arial accidentally lost himself in Arcane territory as a curious hatchling. It dragged the Fae into a nearby bush to hide him from an angry Arcane clan, and Arial brought the stoat home with him. Ever since, he's named the stoat Purplethorn, and he takes good care of his new companion. Sometimes Arial tries to feed his stoat some knowledge - he's not sure if Purplethorn has picked it up or not, but it doesn't hurt to try.

Player's notes:
Yes, I named him after the font Arial. It came up on the random name generator and I just went "that's the one." His birth was definitely planned; the only thing unexpected was that he popped up in the first nest. A pleasant surprise for me. :)
