Yadyra

The reason battlefields never recover in Ecilion is because no one returns to them. It is not from fear of guilt or of the undead, but of what they cannot see. Some say a restless spirit comes at night to mourn the forgotten warriors; not much is known of them, but they know not to disturb it.

Every few days, those fields are revived with flowers of pestilence, filling the sky with pain and suffering. Some say it is the howling spirit that brings the pain to the living, forcing them to feel what they made the forgotten to feel. Although none has been able to prove it, let alone see it happen and leave with their soul.

The flowers bloomed from battlefields, despite its dead appearance, can be used to create a balm to preserve corpses. Of course, at the time this was useful, but nowadays we have found more efficient ways to preserve the dead. Despite its uses, none wanted to collect them, out of fear of the spirit that guarded them.

When it wasn’t tending to its flowers, it was believed that the spirit would roam the night, seeking to avenge the forgotten. You could tell it was after you, as your dreams would be filled with the name Yadyra. If you woke up, you would be met with a thin woman at the front of your bed, wearing a white mask and wielding a long spear with your name on it.
