__ABOUT:
Wise | Serene | Patient | Kind__
"What would I be, if not for who I once was?"
__Constellation discovered her gift as a hatchling. Her first words were a warning, as ominous as they were unexpected. She was ostracized as a hatchling, treated like she, herself was a bad omen. Still, she held onto her gift, learning how to interpret the strange and ever-shifting messages the universe offered her. Through years of hard work and service, she became a respected member of her community. Still, the wounds of a lonely past haunted her. __One day, Constellation's clan discovered a wounded familiar - a strange rabbit-like creature known as an Irradiated Astronomer. Upon seeing him, Constellation knew that this creature would bring her great strife. Still, her sense of compassion and duty overrode her trepidation, and she advocated for the familiar to be treated by the clan. As predicted, the familiar became a nuisance once he recovered. Ornery and old, covered in mysterious scars and full of distrust and hatred, the clan's healers named him 'Madmer'. Madmer never adjusted into a softer, more trusting personality, instead regularly biting dragons, stealing important trinkets, breaking valuable items, and causing general mischief wherever he went. Several dragons tried to defend him, to help him heal his distrust of dragons and live out his final days in peace. But in short time, Constellation was his final advocate. Her clan begged her to allow him to be released into the wild, even if he would surely die at his age. Constellation was not spared Madmer's rage, and her insistence on caring for him meant she received the worst of his anger and mischief. But when she saw the faces of her clan looking down on him, she could so vividly see herself as a hatchling. By defending this miserable creature, would she end up back where she had started? What good was compassion, when it hurt her so terribly? The ultimatum came, and Constellation finally agreed to send Madmer away. When the morning of his departure came, the clan rejoiced. They celebrated the relief his absence brought. They were freed! Freed of his moods and biting and kicking, freed of his destruction and hatred. It took the day for anyone to notice that Constellation, too, had vanished. Together, Constellation and Madmer travelled in search of...something. A new home, perhaps? A safe place to live out their days together? Over the course of a year and some months, they met countless clans who started off welcoming, only to grow tired of Madmer's unyielding ways. Finally, they learned of floating chunks of ice, thrown together to form a home for outcasts. Constellation, too, had become jaded in her travels, and she approached with caution. |
__ICE ISLANDS: __On the ice islands, the group that awaited them was small - a collection of dragons who didn't quite fit, or didn't want to fit, where they came from. She was welcomed before she could even speak of her gift. And Madmer, the scarred old familiar, was welcomed, too. Madmer did not suddenly become loving and kind. He hardly changed at all, really. Rather, the people around him changed in little ways. The clan's leader, GentleMin, build simple, if clunky contraptions that kept Madmer from certain residences and cabinets. Later members would improve on these designs, helping to Madmer-proof the islands. In time, this new clan became their home. There was conflict, but there was always reconciliation. Constellation and her familiar found peace at last. And Madmer, for his part, finally stopped biting Constellation. Everyone else, however, was fair game. |
RELATIONSHIPS:
_ |
_Sufyan _Constellation's total opposite. Where most dragons see a serpent unworthy of trust and steeped in motives as clear as mud, Constellation finds Sufyan's double-speak and unreadable demeanor entertaining. The two are experts at insight and unfurling complicated words and messages, and they are often found enjoying a nice teatime, discussing philosophy and their particularly different views on ethics. |

_GentleMin _This leader's patience and open heart won him Constellation's loyalty and trust. While so many had relief on her visions without valuing her, GentleMin did not stake his leadership abilities on her. Instead, he consulted Constellation as one would an advisor, taking her visions and wisdom into account, but not following it blindly. To him, Constellation is family first, and between them lives a warm and mutual respect. |
