Mai was found around (plague territory's) border by Adonis on a particularly long trip through Sornieth. Though startling at first, Maitake wasn't a threat-- rather just scared. Adonis decided to take them back to Skystead to help, and a band of dragons took her under their wing immediately. They are often in the company of Heartkey, nestled under a tree with her and their guide dog, Sophie. Mai has been trying to reconnect with her past self throughout her stay in Skystead; Cazwe helps with self-discipline and Harbinger helps with familial bonds. They also take speech therapy with Athena, and thus have a coatl-like chitter to their voice whenever they talk. |

Harbinger was once a sentry for the Plaguebringer herself. Although not a guardian, he has always been a utilitarian sort of dragon. No one is quite sure how he left his ranks under the Plague flight, nor how he ended up in Skystead. Harbinger is stubborn and reserved, often hiding in some dark corner of a den, lurking and keeping a lookout. So far, he's proven to be a good sentry-- a loyal dragon worthy enough to put up a fight. He wards off enemies and makes sure those who enter will not cause harm. Although not one given to talking, he is able to pinpoint the diseases of sick dragons in our lair, making them much easier to cure. It is unknown whether he brings these sickness upon others himself, or is simply there to point them out before they begin to flare up. His purpose in Skystead is outlined, and although a mysterious figure, he's proven to be useful to the safety of our clan.

Speaks with an odd sort of chitter, like a coatl, but is mostly mute. Their sight is blurred by their primal eyes, and thus they end up stumbling and bumping into things frequently. They have a guide dog that helps them around and calms them at times. They come off as scary though they don't mean it, as they shudder or give off threat displays as tics sometimes. Athena helps them with speech therapy, and Koi or Heartkey sometimes take over on Athena's off time. Wisteria interacts frequently to try to help ease the spreading of mushrooms, which seems to be working.
When not working with others, she hangs out with Harbinger. Both being oilslick/red range PCs, she sees him as an older brother of sorts. Though Harbinger seems to bear this fact begrudgingly, he can sometimes be found asleep, cuddled up next to (pc name) and growling slightly at anyone who treads close enough to disturb their sleep.
They seem to have a language of their own. The two nearly always know what each other is thinking, even without saying anything.
Their hainu spaniel, Sophie, helps guide them around when others can't. She likes nestling up to Mai in the shade of Skystead's trees, as well as frolicking through the waves along Dragonhome's border.
