Arthyen came from a very typical Snapper clan; they were always travelling and never staying in once place for long. When Art grew up, he realized he longed for something more permanent, more stable. He found Clan Ksayla, by complete chance. He had wandered far from his brethren, and farther still from the Icefields he was born in. He adjusted to a homebody life rather well, indulging in the warmth of his new home and the security of familiarity.

He was forced out of this new comfort, when the Clan’s Ice Sprite, with no provocation, left her previous owner, flitted to Arthyen’s side, and curled up in a ball in his tail. The Clan Council agreed heartily that this was a sign, that Icewarden called Arthyen to be his Ambassador. It was back to a life of wandering for Art, but at least this time the journeys served specific purposes, not just endlessly wandering in the same tired patterns. He also used this time to stock up on his favorite food, Tundra Catus, as it was quite rare in the Ashfall Wastes. On one of his pilgrimages, during a Crystalline Gala, Arthyen befriended a Polarfreeze Defender. His longtime companion sprite agreed to take her leave, at least for a little while. Eventually, the bear and sprite were able to agree to take turns with Art, and would go on diplomatic adventures of their own when not spending time with their friend; these trips often yielded more frozen friends for Arthyen.

As time passed, Art found a new balance in life. He was able to have time as a homebody while still being an excellent Ambassador.
