Originally used to be a coal miner, now a sort of environmentalist thanks to Ahorangi and Stench

Not that anyone knows what coal is, they just know black rock found deep in old caverns burns really well

Black burning rock became very sought after, so in her increased efforts to supply the rocks, cave ins started to occur more often. This brought the attention of Ahorangi, whose gardens were directly above.

Ahorangi went down into the caverns to confront Fuel after one sinkhole opened up, nearly swallowing up Stench. While he was down there, a disturbance in the earth caused a previously unddiscovered cavern to open up. Inside was a very rare plant known to live underground under specific conditions. Ahorangi immeidately became obsessed with this plant, and balancing the spefici conditions for growth, which Fuel was happy to accommodate. She continued to work on extracting the coal, much to his disdain. Eventually his passion began to infect her too, and she started caring for the plant and him.
She was actually the first of the two to realise that the plant not only thrived off the coal, but needed the coal to grow. So, with respect for Ahorangi and his pet project, she stopped mining, and instead dedicated herself to protecting the plant. This meant that Ahorangi could return to the surface more often, to care for his plants.
It didn't stop him from returning often to see her, with gifts from the surface like pressed flowers preserved by Stench.

Stench isn't allowed in the caverns though, as the air quality isn't great to start with.

Ahorangi's made changes up at the surface level to protect the entrance with his carnivorous plants, so that his neighbour and love stays safe.
