Some of the townsfolk all say that I am odd, or different. Others that I’m hiding something. I never intend to hide anything, but I do have a troubled past. It’s all starting to come back to me now. How I left my last home during the Great War, how everything in my life went wrong. It’s all gone downhill from there. Without my villages support, I was forced out of Merrith, my home. Now I live here. In Wish Village. The tiniest of tiny specks on a map, so deep in the North Territory you might miss it even if you walked straight towards it. Nobody here understands trauma except for one new arrival called Shiver. She doesn’t hide her pain at her mate being lost, and I feel as though we talk for hours. I feel hope that I may be able to overcome my crushing loss over my home, but it will take a long, long time.
