Rumored to have been found as an egg by Moz, Vie was raised by Haima. Being war-oriented and dedicated to the overall efforts of the Fire flight, Haima trained her adopted son in the ways of honorable combat but was let down when he became rather underhanded in his mannerisms during skirmishes. Vie would often times feign injury or weakness to deceive an opponent, or disoriented them by utilizing elements of his surrounding environment. Soon Vie and Hai began to butt heads, literally, and Hai disowned him. After falling out with the warrior, he still referred to her as "mother" and without any hint of disrespect.

Vie once had a mate who was the clan's artist, but her stay was shortened when the Plaguebringer called for her in light of an intense, flight-wide battle with Earth. After she was gone, Vie noticed how monochrome and dull the clan's territory began to look as paint faded, and took it upon himself to become the clan's artist. Combat is no longer his primary duty, as he would rather be either drawing or flying high and away from the bustle and nose of the clan.

Palia has appointed him as lookout when she noticed him circling above so often: "Aye, you've saved many lives with your circling and wandering. Don't think that I didn't see you, lookin' like a tiny speck, high above me as I sought to drink fresh blood during my mad years? Ha! So wander as you wish and tell me what those electric eyes see."

He is sure to make his rounds where Bhadra, the other scout, is not.
