To the dragon that smells of roses and the one who holds my heart, Daista chuckled as she read the note. The light, flowing cursive words along with the carefully scented paper made her heart flutter. She sighed as she read over the note for the fifth time. She had a good feeling about this one. His poise was much clearer than the rest. The brushstrokes were confident. Most importantly, he had finished the letter. "Fauna, dear." She barely finished her hushed call before her familiar pinned the letter with a thorn, right next to the rest. Oh, how she had progressed. The first letter she had received, well, was only addressed to 'My dear Daista' with the a having a rather long tail and no other markings on the page. It was hardly a work of art. But neither had she or her drink been. She turned to look at her own work. The liquid dripped into the flask, disappearing after a flash of color. She waited until the next drop's wisps of colors slowly faded. Perfect, Perfect. She hummed as she trotted to the kettles. Steam wafted from each sprout as they sat on the coals; the heat was so carefully maintained by Daista. She gasped as one let out a large, red poof of steam. Her eyes narrowed as a smile grew on her face. She could soon receive her next letter. A single knock drew her eyes to the entranceway of her kitchen. There stood Linalia. Through the dragoness attempted to remain pose, her wings loosened from their places by her side and her antennae drooped. The act didn't last for long as the skydancer collapsed on Daista's bed with a long sigh. Daista poured the tea. Her role in the garden was the silent protector. Othocase has the muscle to shove out the physical dragons. Daista had the talent to pour a drink. Tea was for friends and her drink was for the less savory types. At first, she had no intention of using her drink. Simply making it was enough for her. But some dragons didn't know how to keep their claws off of others or keep their words from leaving their mouths. Then, Daista didn't mind sharing her drink. She loved the skydancer currently ranting on her bed and was starting to become quite close with the other dragonesses. Her clan was growing and so was her hoard of letters. All was good. | ___ |
