Biography
Uh-oh, looks like this caretaker wandered a little too far from his home lair (KingVulture, 437722), and now he's off to see the world! If you ever feel the urge to exalt, he'd really appreciate it if you could just return him home instead, or to the 'Dragons Off to See the World' thread. If you don't want another traveler in return, you can also drop him off at the Traveling Dragon Rest Hub!
He'd like to receive a permanent home someday, so if you'd like to adopt him, just let KingVulture know!
Qubine was rescued by the dragons of Crow Callers as a hatchling; appreciating the care given to him, he grew up wanting to return the favor and care for others himself.
The fact that more dragons weren't injured at the circus amazed Qubine, considering all the downright stupid stunts he saw them perform. The most he had to deal with was a broken arm. Or three.
Qubine stayed at the Verdant Villa for many lovely days. He was pretty popular with all of the courtesans: they were all very intrigued about this young and handsome medic who was traveling the length and breadth of Sornieth. He chatted with them about his medical training and told them stories of the circus. He answered hundreds of questions from the more curious Dolls, Thyxeshi and Miku.
Qubine also became friends with a Princess Petal Gecko, which he named Laza. They were inseparable during his stay at the Verdant Villa, and he doted on the precious lizard that liked hiding in his mane. The day he departed, Qubine released Laza to be with his newfound friend Faythe. He subconsciously decided that if he were ever to settle down after his adventures, a Princess Petal Gecko would be his ideal familiar companion.

If he was honest, Qubine couldn't quite recall how he got to Valhall. But once he was there, he didn't see the harm in taking in the sights, despite the dreadful temperatures and less-than-friendly wildlife.
He opted to pay for his lodgings by serving in the Lyfjaberg, alongside the field medic in training, Regin, and the plethora of healers staffing Valhall's esteemed medic ward. There was much to learn, but Qubine found himself most intrigued by the medicinal uses of local flora, and he made sure to bring with him as many herbs and roots as he could before setting off again.
Qubine enjoyed a variety of activities at the Sunbeam Lanternhouse: he got to witness performances from the dance troupe and try his claw at different crafts in the artists' commune. He got to explore the sunny Meadow, which he appreciated; the memory of the cold in the Southern Icefield still lingered in his bones. Yet he was a little ill at ease, indulging as he was in leisure, rather than putting his medical skills to use or learning techniques to improve them.
His subconscious disquiet faded, however, when he met Nerva. The tiny Veilspun was the Lanternhouse's physician, and Qubine was fascinated by his treatment methods: drawing on his Plague flight ideals, he specialized in making poisons to cure his patients of disease.
Despite his own flight heritage, it wasn't something Qubine had ever considered, and he showered Nerva with endless questions. It took some time before he'd satisfied his curiosity and organized all the notes he'd taken. Once he'd done so, he thanked his hosts profusely and continued on his journey.
When Qubine arrived in the territory of the Hollowshade Clan, something felt different than before. Upon meeting a very pink spiral named Pendragon, as well as his assistant - a smokey imperial named Anders, Quibine felt like he belonged. He spent a good amount of time learning what he could from Pendragon and Anders before being asked a very serious question by the spiral.
"Would you like to stay with our clan and become my apprentice? You show great promise young man." Pendragon had said, his tone clear he wasn't joking, as they worked on mixing some herbs together to make a paste for one of the injured guardsman. That night, Qubine had gone to bed with the question weighing on his mind. It was near impossible to sleep as he weighed his options, and before he knew it, the sun was steadily rising.
When he saw Pendragon later that day, he cleared his throat from the doorway. Pendragon had given a ghost of a smile before turning to face Qubine, who looked quite nervous. "I wish to stay and become your apprentice." He finally said. Pendragon smiled and waved him over, beginning his apprenticeship - as well as telling him about his new home.
