The species does not breathe, instead they have a symbiotic relationship with a bacteria living in their bodies that creates oxygen for them. The bacteria originated from the thermal vents the species first evolved next to.
The species has big sensitive eyes as their entire planet was once shrouded in darkness with the only light being their bioluminescent skin and that of other creatures. They used to hunt like anglerfish. Currently, dim light sources exist because of their technology.
They possess a second set of elongated arms and fingers, formerly used for hunting. Their arms would lunge forwards to swiftly grab their prey, this extra set of elongated limbs helped greatly with the making of tools.
