"Nothing's definite, but yes, it may come to that. I intend to make good use of you."
Originally an apprentice under Ansem the Wise, Even (as he was known then, pronounced Ev-an) valued science and scientific discoveries with methodical research more than anything in the world. Relationships were often very 'chilled' with a distinct hint of snobbery from the Chilly Academic who saw others as lesser despite no one truly taking him seriously. When the experiments of darkness inside hearts began, he was quickly swept along into the flow of Xehanort's plans.
After an unfortunate mishap, Even woke to find himself no longer 'whole' so to say, but that his heart was gone, leaving what would become known as Nobodies. adding an x to his name to create the name Vexen, the former scientist chose to continue his experiments under the leadership of Xemnas (Xehanort's nobody). This included of course, going to various worlds. With each world, the nobodies take a form that make it harder for natural inhabitants to notice there's anything out of the ordinary. After all, in a world full of dragons, a single human would stand out like a beacon. Vexen has come to love this world, especially the lair he found under the Icewarden, matching up with his already existing element. Now he's simply conducting long time observations and enjoying the comforts of such a chilly climate. The longer that Vexen stays in this world, the less he's inclined to return back to the safety of the Castles (Never Was and Oblivion respectively). Instead he's found a calling in life in his mad rambles and gentle love of his mate. It doesn't hurt that he has a whole clan of dragons to follow him. In light of more recent news, Vexen chose to move the clan from the frozen expansions of the Southern Icefield into the more moderately acclimated Windswept Plateau. The clan has enjoyed the more moderate weather patterns and the more abundant food choices. The clan has settled their home on the edge of wind territory near the Sea of a Thousand Currents and has built relationships with several water clans. Though his clan has left the Icefields, Vexen was unfortunately infected with a parasite that causes ice crystals to solidify and harden into a permanent sheet of ice on both wing and mane. This has left him with the difficulty of flying, but it hardly bothers him in the long run. After all, it's merely a reminder of his frozen oasis.
