Biography

Once an unwanted child of a corrupt noble family, Ordair was sent through a shady deal into the clutches of the Order of the Black Scale - an "organization" heavily intertwined with the nation's governing parties. The Order kept a public face as a group that assisted with law enforcement, scientific and military advancement. But in truth its members created monstrosities, sacrificed and murdered people to serve the will of a demonic lord.
Though initially intended as a sacrifice, they fought tooth and nail to stay alive, and prove they had what it took to become a full member of the organization. Ordair was trained as a child spy and eventually became a captain and one of the Black Scale's most deadly assassins.
With a carefully crafted self-image, Ordair took pride in their role, accepting themselves as a villain and loyal instrument of death. They built an emotional wall to avoid having to face the human empathy and guilt around their actions. They were sure it could never be breached.
Until he came along.
He was the first one to get under their skin and annoy them. Why did this mysterious man who had waltzed into their organization out of nowhere suddenly have all the power and influence Ordair had worked for years to claim as their own - and more? Why did he think he could mess around with them like they were peers or even friends? And... why was he so damn charming?
