Almandine is a severe, no-nonsense female, rarely seen without her owl familiar Naussicus (though she has recently taken up with an odd-looking bear named Eumycetes, a peculiar deer called Phyca, and a large fish that... is it really called Almandine? Apparently so.) Despite Amberite technically being the clan founder, Almandine is indisputably the leader. She holds some concerns about Andesine's future as the clan's leader, given his hot temper, but hopes that he will grow into his role. Her relationship with the later generations of her family is cordial but slightly distant, due to the age gap.

Long hours spent fighting in the coliseum with Io have brought the two closer together. Both females are fairly taciturn, although Io is far less stern, and they have a strong bond built on mutual respect and admiration. (Lately, a rumor has begun to circulate that their bond may have grown closer than simple friendship. Unlike most clan gossip, this rumor seems to have substance.)
