Still quite young, Reva still lives with Usha and Zephyr alongside her siblings, Pipevine and Cloudburst. Ever since she's gotten her wings, they've gone out looking around the territory nearly every day that they had the chance. She's still uncertain of what she wishes to do in her life moving forward, but she's sure she'll find her interests eventually.

Every month she gets check-ups done for her wings by Ulva, although there are rarely any problems with them. She's already has had her wings for a little over two years now, but she has considered the option of getting an upgrade for a more modern pair. For the time being, she's decided it's a bit too expensive for her to get and that she'll get some another time.




History

The first memories were cold, filled with snow and ice that bit at her wings and scales. She was alone with her three clutchmates, their mother long gone as their fates were left up to the cold tundra to decide. No matter how much she cried out, there was no reply other than the harsh wind that howled around them. The more she stayed, curled up in the snow, her distaste for the cold grew as time passed. Eventually, she weakly got up onto her talons and started her blind search for shelter, for warmth. She didn't know how long she had wandered aimlessly through the snow, but it was enough to make her limbs completely numb to the cold. Soon, the snow-filled landscape became too much for her and she collapsed in the middle of the relentless tundra. When she started to wake up, she realized that she wasn't swarmed by cold gales anymore. Instead, she felt. . . warmth, for the first time. A cozy fire crackled in the center of a barren cave, her scales now covered under a soft blanket. Five other dragons sat around the campfire with her, their quiet chatter filled the small cave. When they noticed that she was awake, they gave her small scraps of food and water while they talked about travelling elsewhere.

The next day, they departed from the cave and out into the crisp air of the tundra. She stayed hidden away in the same soft blanket as the day before, carried by a nocturne named Thea. For the whole day, they travelled by wing over the cold snow and no more fell from the sky even though grey clouds warned of its arrival. Along the way, she could barely make out the conversation between Taiyo and Xanthe, where they spoke about getting her to another location for medical attention. At the time, she didn't understand what they meant when they spoke about 'frostbite,' or just what had happened to her wings. All she cared about for the time being was being warm.

Before she knew it, they had made it across the ocean and into the Windswept Plateau. Instead of chilly gales, the winds were more warm, more forgiving and caring. It was her first observations- her first memories- of her new home. The second-most memorable memories was the view of Windbreak City on the distant horizon, along with the ocean even further past it.

The five dragons that had found and cared for her the past month or so flew down towards the center of the town. Other dragons mingled around as they went about their day, they approached some of them and after some questions, the group would make their way over to the large library of the town. Inside the library, it was calm and quiet, and they approached a certain group of dragons off to the side.

One of the dragons seemed to bear resemblance to Xanthe, which she would later learn was Usha, Xanthe's older sister. They handed her over to Usha, the wildclaw looking over her with concern. Reva remembered stretching out her wings, deciding to look at them herself to see what all the fuss was about. Almost half of her wings were an odd, black color with no pattern, the webbing starting to fray in placed. She couldn't remember if that had always been what her wings looked like.

Usha picked her up and would take her to another building in the city. She was set down on a table in one of the rooms before the wildclaw quickly walked off. Not much longer after that, she came back in with another, more robotic-looking wildclaw named Scoril. After that point, her memories become fuzzy and the next thing she remembered, she was curled up in a soft bed. Most of the webbing on her wings were gone, not a trace left of the black coloration that was once on them. Her arms, legs, and tail were covered in bandages and she now noticed that her limbs were sore. She didn't think much of it at the time. As she slowly grew up under the care of Usha and Zephyr, the more it all made sense. After she had been left out in the cold for so long as a young hatchling, her wings were damaged beyond repair due to frostbite. Since it was unlikely her wings would ever heal and be the same again, most of her wing webbing was removed. This rendered her flightless, which was a fate she was going to have either way. She remembered wishing to ride the warm updrafts into the sky like other dragons do on a whim, her dreams crushed by the actions of her biological parents that she never knew.

Fortunately, she would have Pipevine and Cloudburst to help cheer her up whenever she was upset. All three of them got along like siblings despite their vast differences with their wings. Even though Reva couldn't fly, they always included her on their adventures when she was growing up. She remembered how Pipevine would always try to take the blame for whenever they got in trouble for sneaking out at night, although they never believed her.

Around her early years of being a teenager, she would've stopped growing, smaller than most other pearlcatchers her age. Once Usha noticed, she would've brought up the idea for her to get prosthetic wings. When Reva first heard the suggestion, she could barely process what Usha meant- sure, she had heard about prosthetic wings, but she hadn't thought she would get some herself.

A month later, she would have had custom wings forged for her from a light-weight metal that would allow for easy flight. Her first few attempts at flying were. . . clumsy, to say the least. After some encouragement and advice from her family, she would eventually get herself up into the air for the first time. Days passed and it became more of a rhythm for her to jump up into the sky and let the warm updrafts guide her around. Her dreams of flying on her own had finally come true.
