Biography
ETERNITY "What is dead may never die." |
Memento mori (Latin: "remember that you have to die") is the medieval Latin Christian theory and practice of reflection on mortality, especially as a means of considering the vanity of earthly life and the transient nature of all earthly goods and pursuits. Memento mori has been an important part of ascetic disciplines as a means of perfecting the character by cultivating detachment and other virtues, and by turning the attention towards the immortality of the soul and the afterlife. This curse would be traced down his lineage. All Moros' children were destined to die, like any dragon. But they would be given a second chance. It was up to the children if they would accept the bargain. Eternity is an observant individual, smart and determined, no detail slips her view. She's kind, but quiet, preferring to keep to herself and her work. Sometimes, it even seems like she prefers to speak to the dead more than the living. She's not one for physical combat, preferring to use her lightning magic for offense and defense, especially with whatever foes seek to disturb her work, although she's not an expert by any means. Like all dragons, death is inevitable. But unlike all dragons, Eternity was also meant to be given a Second Chance. Accepting the offer of the mysterious familiar, the pearlcatcher found herself in the world of the living once more. She felt like herself, and yet something.. felt different; not bad, just different. There was a spark of curiosity and determination in her soul that felt brand new. Finding interest in her lineage she learned the art of necromancy; divination with the dead. After some thought, she decided to work as a detective, finding justice and closure for the ghosts who could not find it themselves. They told her of their stories, their sorrows, their secrets, and one by one she brought them the closure that they and those that were close to them sought. She never told anyone how she died, or what her life was like on the first chance. It wasn't something she wanted to tell, and it wasn't important. The past is the past and she lives a new life now. She named them Bardran. The tatterwing carcass came upon her when she was given the Second Chance. Why they chose her, she didn't know; they never told her, and she could never figure it out, and after all this time, perhaps it was the greatest mystery in all her existence. All she knew was that they were the being that filled her with life once more, although, life wasn't the only thing they gave her. Admittedly, they didn't seem to do much. Physically, they hardly ever did anything for her, and if she told them to do something they would simply stare at her, without actually doing what she told them to do. But spiritually, deep down she knew they were doing more than they seemed to. |
