Basil

Basil practically radiates vulnerability. He crumbles at any adversity, and any dragon that deliberately pushes his buttons is reprimanded. He holds no special status or power among his clan that would grant him such protection: the results of his breakdowns are simply too upsetting for his clanmates to witness.

He lives a quiet life, watering and tending the Empyreal's planters and potted plants. It's not a big job, but he needed an excuse to go outside and interact with others. His special protection aside, he does not ask for much. Most of the clan try to treat him with kindness, or at least tolerate his sensitivity. Jokesters and snobs give him a wide berth, not wanting to provoke him. He is also avoided by other Coatl who are appalled by his pale, faded plumage. When pressed about his appearance, he says he was born these colors and that it's his natural look, but few believe it.

He has never shared what is so obviously distressing him, though he has been gently encouraged to try. Prying at it only makes him withdraw more. It's unclear whether Basil will ever make a breakthrough or whether he will carry this burden for life. For the time being he has kept a holding pattern, as if waiting for something or someone to change his fate...
