It is said that the good Doc joined his adventuring party for love. It isn't known for who, or for what, but this was one of many. The other reasons were that he was in no hurry to head anywhere, their team needed a stalwart anchor...

Well, these are all reasons that he has said. Perhaps they're true. Perhaps they're not. But they've had little reason to distrust Doc so far. He's been the level head amid Gentleman and Eire's clashes, and when it comes to poor decisions, he's always the one to remind them of better alternatives... while still offering his support regardless.

And even in the wake of Gentleman's death, here he stays.

It wasn't long before more dragons heard of them. Of their quest for the destination on a mysterious map, and their need for numbers. Diggers and warriors abundant joined the cause.

But what they needed, just as much as them, was scholars. Those who worked just as well with pen and paper as they did with pick and brush.

Enter Tubul.

Tubul was a Ridgeback who loomed over her peers, with a statuesque height and beauty that which rivaled the Tower itself, and just as much knowledge in her eyes. Her tusks were capped in gold, which matched the gilded scars of her body and the gold of her glasses.

She was beautiful. But more than that, she knew how to handle their finances, and how to keep track of inventory. She kept them reasonable. She kept him focused, kept him on his toes.

And like she reminded him in life, her death served to remind him of the severity and significance of their cause. He would slack no longer.

The news of Breach's death struck the team hard. She was one of the hardest workers there, if not the hardest worker. She was the representative of the diggers for the expedition. The sternest brow, the strongest heart, second only to...

And then she was gone. Letol was the one who brought the news. He said he heard screams coming from the depths of the Tangled Wood, where Breach had taken her last expedition. But when he got there, he found very little. Streaks of blood that smelled like her own. Pieces of flesh, hard as metal, scattered about like pottery. Torn leather. Broken bangles. Her goggles.

Doc wanted answers, but the Bogsneak had none to give. Breach, Sirius, and Maia, it seemed... had met their end.
