Talis

Reared in the Southern Icefield, Talis and her mate Celsius journeyed far to reach the lands they were laid in, hoping to find opportunity and prosperity serving under the Stormcatcher. Instead, they found the Shifting Expanse barren, dry and deserted, the only other inhabitants largely inhospitable and bound to the deity's unilateral will. Frightened and repelled by what they found, the two nonetheless settled temporarily in the Highland Scrub, eking out a meager living and taking in dragons who seemed equally lost. Now, the colony they founded has swelled in numbers, and they have carved out a larger place for themselves beneath a large tree in the Canyon, sending out great numbers of Skydancers to alert them to other questants and fighting fiercely when needed to maintain their ground.

Although Celsius likes to fashion himself the head of the clan, and Talis largely indulges him, she is the true brains of the operation. While her long-term memory is not particularly strong, her mind is canny and unhampered by trivial concerns. It was she who masterminds the clan's expansion efforts, and she thoroughly vets each dragon's role in the group to ascertain that the clan remains strong and united, even dictating who may clutch with whom. At times, particularly promising candidates whom she and Celsius train are requested to remain with the clan to strengthen its numbers rather than pass on to the Stormcatcher's service. She and Celsius fight alongside each other in tandem as a seamless unit.

Talis is sensible about her limitations as a clan leader, and, as such, attempts to surround herself with more cunning dragons. Feldspar is her right-claw drake; with a memory as long as the horizon, she is the record-keeper of the clan, and can recite its comprehensive history with little effort. However, it is rumored that Talis is at work at transcending her memory issues through magical means, and that she is pursuing a transformation similar to Proteus' which would allow her to become stronger, swifter, and yet more cunning. Although reverence for their Mother has not declined in the group, the wiser members have taken to staying well out of her way.
