In Progress Lore:

Once a defenseless and sweet hive of dragons, the Mok Chi’ Colony produced a delicious golden substance for fledglings across the everglades. It was beloved by all, hatchlings and elders alike were begging for more. However, the colony could not keep up with demand. So in desperation, they went to the Dryads, asking for their assistance. Hearing their plead, the Flower Beings grew fruiting plants and an abundance of nectar-rich flowers. Overjoyed, the Mok Chi' went day and night making their precious syrup. Still, there wasn’t enough for the other dragons in their province, so the Queen worked hard to care for and grow more children.

Eventually, they returned to their honey-making duties, but upon sharing their hard-earned wealth with the clans of the Everblooms, they were not greeted with the same glee. Their efforts could’ve never amounted to the selfishness that consumed the land, as while the dragons greedily consumed their generous gift, they were demanding more.

Except the Mok Chi’ could not give them more, their matriarch explained, for her subjects would starve. Yet the outcries did not stop. Furthermore, the protesting dragons proceeded to follow the Mok Chi’ home, commanding the Queen to forfeit her children’s share. When she refused, they descended upon her home, ravishing the hive for any remaining sweetness.

Her family desperately evacuated the young or injured, unable to deter the attack on their nest. When the mob was finished, having stolen all of what they wished, she was left clinging to the rubble, mourning the loss of her lost children.

Nevertheless, her grief could not last. She still had children, living children, depending on her. Her heavy heart would not stay sullen, for the smothering pain would boil into a searing fury.
