i'm— i was just a drone, so i don't really know how the consciousnesses work together... but EKOLON was definitely weird. the hive usually thinks of itself as the antithesis to dragonkind, the gods themselves, but EKOLON was enamored with magic. obsessed. willing to observe "imperfections" in the hive. i'd've been stamped out without hesitation in any other.

they don't want to wipe us out, i think. they think the other drones and consciousnesses are dull. dark. unimaginative. limiting themselves with natural strength and means, or whatever that may be for the hive. they were always going on about potential... about magic, about fire and glorious rebirth.

... faizel. they don't want us gone. they want to change us.
