Biography

The Theorist



Coral is Slate's mate of many years. He is energetic and enthusiastic, and loves her very much. He's also

a bit of a conspiracy theorist, though he doesn't take himself too seriously--before he moved to

Staticstem, he had a whole board plotting out where the Tidelord could be.


Within Staticstem, Coral designed their makeshift radio tower, as well as working with Slate on

blueprints of a synthetic body to allow the Transmitter a vessel, since the being doesn't seem to have a

stable form, other than the flickering, mirage-like behemoth that Slate saw on her arrival.


Coral's newest pet theory is that the Transmitter is some form of deity, albeit much less powerful than

the Eleven, whose domain in some way encompasses radio waves, which would explain their method of

communication, as well as the bubble of static interference that is the Sornieth Radio Quiet Zone.


Coral worked in the same facility as Slate in the Lightning Farm, though his work involved drawing up

blueprints. She would often come by his desk, bored out of her mind by her work as safety advisor, to

complain with him, and in return she let him talk about how the Shade was really dragons from the

future all he wanted.

After Slate's discovery of the Transmitter in the Quiet Zone, she flew just outside to radio him with

the news. Coral, after shaking off his sleepiness, agreed to join her there immediately, having always

been interested in urban legends and conspiracies. He's delighted to have the chance to potentially be

part of a new one with Slate.
