Ryujin

Ryujin was once a lump of crystal deep within a cave where light never shone. They were once as sentient as any crystal that was slowly growing over the millennia, yet it was through a meeting of a moon-colored dragon whose scales carried with it the light of the night sky that they awoke. For the first time, they felt warmth flowing through their crystallized self, awakening a power long since dormant. They reached out to touch the mind of whatever held such power and found Raya.

Although they had a corporeal form now, it does tend to weaken and crack away, showing the true crystal within. With Raya's power, these cracks will slowly mend, only for new cracks to show. There is no worry between them, as this causes no pain. Once in a while, their children will also be born crystallized inside, sharing in the ancient power their paternal side wields.

"Do you wish me to look like you?" The crystal asked, the light pulsing as it spoke in her mind. Raya smiled softly and shook her head, her scales shimmering in their own glow. A small chuckle echoed throughout the cave. The soft light of crystals around them made it seem as if they were in the galaxy of stars.

"No, your form should be what you wish it." Raya teased the crystal, pacing around it in eagerness. A sentient crystal was not what she had expected to meet in her exploration.
