Rime

One of those who foresees the end of Sorneith, this one in particular by the world being struck by a massive comet striking the Sunbeam Ruins, destroying the continent entirely, and covering the world in a massive cloud of debris, resulting in an Ice Age. The power of Ice and Shadow becoming overwhelming in the world wide frigid darkness. Whether the comet was something long on its way, or rather something that was called upon from the depths of space from the Arcanist, in a final attempt to eliminate the emperor threat, is unclear.

In the chaos that ensues, the Flamecaller and her minions abandon their land and move to the center of the impact, seeking to minimize the damage that has been incurred on the world, as well as claim what is now the warmest part left of the land. Though eventually they are driven deep underground to escape the encroaching press of cold.

The inhabitants of the Viridian Labyrinth, which was half destroyed by the crashing waves of the aftermath, take refuge in the tunnels beneath the roots of The Behemoth as the land freezes over. The massive tree changing colors and shedding its leaves for the first time in existence.

The Tangled Wood, while also partially devastated, the Forum now fully submerged in water, has thrived in the eternal dark. Spreading its thorny vines into the shrinking mass of The Scarred Wasteland, who's diseased membranous land has started to either die off, or become dormant from the cold, they seek to overwhelm and encage the sprawling Contagion while it is weakened.

Stormcatcher's predilection for building on plateaus saved a great deal of The Shifting Expanse. While the canyons were flooded, and catastrophe The Source submerging took a great toll on them, Lightning's technological advances helped to shield them from the brunt of the damage, and allowed them to continue to press on in spite of the harshness of the eternal frozen night. Their mechanical cities burning even brighter in the darkness, a new beacon to turn towards for the few scattered, powerless and terrified refugees of Light.

The Windswept Plateau, arguably got the harshest bombardment away from the epicenter, as the land froze over the fastest with Twisting Crescendo constantly blasting the continent with harsh winds. The Cloudsong crashing to the ground as none of the flying buildings could handle being so heavily burdened with ice.

The inhabitants of the Starfall Isles, much like the Shifting Expanse, is another place that fared far better than the rest. They were already experienced in building domes around their cities to protect from cosmic bombardment, shifting that protection towards keeping out the cold was not all that much of a difference. The scholars keep to their own interests in tearing apart the workings of the world as ever.

Dragonhome ... one might wonder if they even noticed the difference. A land that had already been very barren of life, now was a frigid tundra instead of a dry and rocky one. It's caverns were ever more cold and dark, but the stony sleepless ones endured, and will remember.
