As the Clan's dedicated sorceress, Pembe supervises the spellcasting training sessions of young dragons when they first reach adulthood.
Moreover, and for a fee, the occultist will also perform beneficial feats in the following schools of magic : Invocation, Abjuration, Apportation, Evocation, and Binding Magic. Being the good-natured and scrupulous dragon she was raised to be, she firmly discourages the use of curses and other harmful forms of magic against clanmates. In addition, she doesn't deal in transformation spells, lest she incur the ire of Aquilah, the Clan Priestess.

Pembe's weaknesses reside in her lack of theoretical knowledge. While she intuitively apprehends any incantation she learns, she seems incapable of constructing her own, which has been a hurdle in exercising her craft. After a lengthy letter exchange, the contemplative thaumaturgist managed to enlist the help of Spell, a skilled spellwright and theorist. Together, they complement each other's work. Spell imagines new recipes and incantations, while Pembe puts them into practice. Spell also steps in when Pembe, true to her Coatl lineage, has difficulty pronouncing chants written in traditional draconic language.
