AlaeLucem is the founder and loyal protector of this lair, and while on the outside she can seem callous and cold, those who live under her wing paint her in a very different light.
Charged with keeping order, she listens well to both sides of a squabble and more often than not, comes to an agreeable compromise.
She happily takes in almost any being wishing to join the family, or even just a few days food and rest.

She settled and began building her den in the Shifting Expanse with her mate and charge, Pellis. They were neighbored by less than friendly clans but they grew and prospered, helping those that needed it, and serving the Stormcatcher faithfully.
They weathered many storms and raids, even as the leading few planned to move the growing clan to more hospitable lands.
Days before the move, they suffered a devastating blow. Clan members had fallen in battle in the past, but her mate was the unlucky soul this time.

What hurt the most was knowing that Pellis wasn't a fighter. He was only protecting those who couldn't protect themselves from an enemy that had come in from one of the clan's own hidden passages.

Alae took the loss of her Charge as hard as one would expect. She refused food and treatment for her wounds as she buried her mate, and throughout the journey to the Sunbeam Ruins.

She gave up her position as clan protector to Glacies, and now used her time to be a matron. A teacher, a shoulder to cry on, an ear to listen, and a voice to soothe. She helps to train potential new protectors, but that is the extent of her fighting. She took up her Charge's... her mate's mantel to honor him and his memory.
