Kore

Kore is the leader of her clan, the Great Matriarch. She is known for her endless patient benevolence, but those who threaten her clan will also find that she is viciously ruthless. She is a great healer and mage, although she rarely enters the battlefield. She prefers to spend her time in the lair and surrounding grounds, taking care of hatchlings, talking to clan mates, and making sure everything's going smoothly. She personally vets all potential clan mates.

Over time Kore has noticed that...strange dragons seem to gravitate towards her clan. And that previously normal dragons are occasionally gaining certain...abnormalities or abilities. She wonders, sometimes, what it means. Where they come from. Whether this strangeness will eventually become dangerous. Only rarely does she question if maybe she's actually welcoming these uncanny events by being so accepting of the individuals--and when she does, she finds that she doesn't really care. It makes life more interesting, she rationalizes, and it's not like she could possibly turn away dragons who might be able to help protect her clan.

And it's not like she's not a little bit strange herself.

Kore shudders, startling awake in the night. Something is wrong. Something is WRONG She listens for a moment, but only silence greets her. She lays back down, pulling her frills over her eyes as she falls back asleep to the sound of... nothing.
