Biography

Ray_Flying_Legends_2005-1.jpg
Shrouded in the darkened nightsky, a lone Spitfire rested in a forest. The brilliant moonlight reflected on its fuselage, or what little paint remained on its beaten body. Vines and grass took hold on the edges, swaying gently in the midnight breeze.

Hmmm, my nose is itchy...what's that?

A caterpillar fell from the tree above, and landed on a damp dirt pile near the Spitfire's broken down engine. It crawled around, seemingly confused.

...there's a leaf right there! Go for it!

As if listening, the caterpillar reached the leaf, and began happily munching on it. It took a while to finish the whole leaf, but eventually more fell down from the wind, and landed suspiciously close to the insect.

Days turned into weeks, and eventually, the caterpillar had its full. It began wiggling around for a shady place to spin its cocoon. It crawled through the shattered glass and reached into the deserted cockpit. It then spun its silk and wrapped it around itself, preparing for the incredible metamorphosis.

Satisfied with the insect's progress, the Spitfire returned to slumber once more.

By the time it woke up, the cocoon was already dry. Even the slightest breeze would crumble the structure.

It wondered, if somehow, it was able to survive like this caterpillar. Fallen from home into an unfamiliar place, and stuck in the middle of nowhere...until...until one day.
