Yulan is generally bright and cheerful, but since the loss of his mate, Blitzwing, he's been quieter than normal. He doesn't like to talk about Blitzwing anymore, since she was lost in a sudden raid and gave her life protecting Yulan. He has yet to mend his broken heart, and the others give him space but make sure to keep an eye on him and his son, Hasaers. Often times, he's crouching in whatever puddle he can find that isn't frozen over, sadly gazing at the freezing ocean in the distance. He dearly misses home, but tries to not show it, and instead tries to help cheer others up, despite having lost one of the most important people in his life. More often than not, he puts others needs above his, and does whatever he can to help others. Hasaers complains that his father should look after himself more, especially now that Blitzwing is gone; she used to be the one watching out for him most of the time. He puts on a front that he's okay, and Seris and the rest of the clan are putting together a plan to help him feel better. Zacharias and Hera blame themselves for Blitzwing's death, but Yulan won't hear it; she wouldn't want them beating themselves up over it. Hasaers and his father didn't used to be particularly close, but now they spend nearly every waking moment together. The two bond over whatever they can, mostly to help them move on. Blitzwing would hate to see them both so sad, and Yulan hates it too. Yulan, as the Water Ambassador, returns to the Tidelord every so often, mostly to see how the Sea of a Thousand Currents are doing. Visits to the Tidelord have changed a little since the loss of Blitzwing, something the Tidelord has noticed but doesn't bring up. Yulan still performs his duty just fine, so no one bugs him about it. Isgal, his best friend, is always doing whatever he can to cheer Yulan up, which is sometimes just sitting with him quietly, basking in each other's presence. Nisa, Isgal's mate and Blitzwing's best friend, also spends time with Yulan, and the two bond over their fond memories of Blitzwing. Nisa, Isgal, and Hasaers all are always keeping tabs on Yulan, but with each passing day he's been getting better and better. But he's still not quite there yet. Has the coldest claws. |
