Castiel is rigid like a statue and just as emotionless. He is helpful in his ways and his words of wisdom help many of his clanmates. But, funnily enough, he is somewhat gullible and not apt to learning things that are "common sense." Which can make for humorous interactions with his fellow dragon folk - especially Bobble.
Castiel is not familiar with the emotion of love and therefore he has more than one mate. They both are very fond of him but he sees them as mates not lovers.
The more he is surrounded by his clanmates the more he learns about the spirit of emotions and the beauty of connecting with other souls. It's a slow process, though, and it may take years before he understands what it is to feel.
