what a show, what a night, how your words delight

A talent is the sweetest at its peak, ripe and full of life. Carefully nurtured, cultivated, from a fragile sprout to a plump fruit, asking to be harvested, to be caught as he falls.
It was supposed to be their greatest achievement, but their hands are shaking, and their eyes are full of tears. Poor creature, they can't feel it anymore, can't remember how to. They are looking, searching for a face familiar and friendly, but he's not here anymore. Sated and satisfied, he is already gone.

Henry is more than a sponsor, more than a helper, and more than a friend. Under his wing young talent blooms: once a shy artist, now the shining icon. But not all of his discoveries can stand the pressure, it seems. It's only natural that some stars will fall from their spotlight - in a last bright flash or quietly flickering on their way down - to never be seen again. Who knows what happens to them after? Artists are so delicate, such sensitive souls, so easy to break.

It always helped him, the keys and the paint. So easy, when you know how.
There is comfort in this predictability, the soothing feeling of doing something perfectly right. A new piece learned, new technique mastered. He is finally getting there, to the path his parents once walked, where his sister is headed. They are proud of him, and in that young of an age, Henry has no doubt: a bright future awaits.

New little star shines. What started as a noble hobby for an aristocrat, now became their only interest. Why shouldn't it be, if they are clearly talented, passionate? They wake up at sunrise, because another hour in bed seems a waste, when they got a myriad of ideas already. And before they're done, Henry is here to pull them away - to yet another event, to leave them inspired and full, or to a dance, where he suddenly seems to be more than a friend and a patron. A glance, lingering just a second too long, a subtle touch, and a whisper that sends shivers down their spine... is this scandalous waltz more than it seems? It makes them wonder, makes them think, makes them imagine things that could happen. But in the end, he simply walks them home, leaving them waiting for him once again.
