Coming to a clan that already has an actual functioning, accurate oracle was a difficult choice for Vera. Vera's fortunes are very accurate but not because of any actual future-seeing ability or magic per se. She can see the individual for what they are and is then able to work with that information in a way that accurately portrays what's likely to happen to them. Normally if she happens across another "fortune-teller" in the field she moves on to another area but she's decided to settle down here. She takes advantage that her main rival is a bit more eccentric for most people's tastes and gives her information in a vague but much less cryptic manner.
She declines comment on whether or not the cards themselves are enchanted.
