"and a one, a two, a one, two, three, four!"

THE designated representative of the Shadowbinder is, aside from their looks, about as far from their flight's dreary aesthetic as you can get. Salmiak has never been one to focus on anything sad for too long, and is always ready with a joke for anyone who seems to need one, which can put him at odds with the seriousness that flourishes in the Southern Icefield. Their true passion, however, lies in song: their Shadow heritage allows them to flawlessly mimic any voice they've ever heard, from the highest soprano to the deepest bass. They love music with all their heart, and will take any opportunity they can get to practice songs with the members of their band: the Sleepless Nights. Unfortunately, this talent for mimicry coupled with their Tundra forgetfulness caused them to forget what their original voice actually sounded like; they tend to use a different voice every day to match their mood at the time. They try their best not to actually mimic any of their fellow clanmates, instead picking from their library of all the dragons they've ever met. It's fortunate for them (and the rest of the clan) that whoever those dragons are, they've got quite the singing voice.

Salmiak's Violet of Trickmurk, Dusklight, is much more responsible than its dragon, and usually leads the annual efforts relating to the Trickmurk Circus. It helps Salmiak stay on track whenever their memory fails them, always guiding with a gentle nudge. When the two of them have time off, Salmiak often recruits Dusklight as a musical critic for their band's latest song, much to the rest of the clan's amusement. Dusklight's musical tastes (classical) don't exactly align with the Sleepless Nights' favored genre (classic rock), but the little serpent can't ever seem to bring itself to give a bad review to the band after seeing how much enthusiasm Salmiak has for it.
