Some dragons collect shiny things, or even fluffy things, but not Amaranth. She collects bones. She says that they link all creatures to the earth, and the Skydancer claims that there’s a universality to be found among all creatures, in that they each have a skeleton. Most dragons don’t know what she’s talking about. Her mate, Knightfire, however, has seen plagues eat away at organisms’ flesh, leaving only their pearl-white bones. He, too, sees the beauty of skeletal remains, and this has enabled the two Plague and Earth dragons to have a relationship that will outlast even the gnawing teeth of Time.
