Hatched amid the echoing wastes of the Abiding Boneyard, the young pearlcatcher was acutely away of the perils of the land. Her own mother, a once pretty Pearlcatcher named Shade, had been infected shortly after the laying her last nest and stood as a hollow reminder of what she had once been. The lack of care from her mother and her father's attentiveness to his mate instead of the clutch of children had a huge impact on the young one's life. Seeing that caring could cause distraction and ultimately neglect, Pearl swore that she would never grow attached to another being.

Instead, she became rather narcissistic constantly butting her way into others conversations, demanding praise and that everyone drop what they're doing to help her. Taking pride in one's pearl is normal of course, but the young one chose to spend hours polishing it and shining it, working to make it grow. In time, her clan grew tired of this behavior and she was exiled, sent to wander in the Wastelands until she found a way out or died. Though it took some time, Pearl eventually found her way into the Starfall Isles, this stop was brief however as few clans would spare her attention and often told her to push on. Frustrated, she continued until she'd crossed into the Floes. It was there that she'd meet a fledgling clan who had yet to solidify it's ranks. Taking advantage of this, the young Pearl pushed her way into the clan with a silent arrogance.

Though she despises the larger cousins of Imperials, her first nest was shared with one. The pair were constantly at each other's throats however and it was only a bit of relief when the hatchlings were born and they weren't forced to spend anymore time together. Neglectful of her children as her own parents had been of her, she continued to take on lovers of all species ranging from Skydancers to Tundras until she found Valoran. Though she has little attachment to him and cares little if he has a harem of lovers or just herself, Pearl has accepted that he isn't quite a horrible nest mate. He's quick to give her attention when she needs it, preening and singing her praises if she desires.

In more recent events, he bought her a scroll that allows her skin to appear as if she has opals coming out of it. This new design has pleased her enough to consider another nest of hatchlings. After the departure of her previous mate, Pearl chose to switch her accent scrolls around, taking on a more accurate representation of herself. Though she still harbors a large amount of hatred towards Imperials, she's found herself drawn to Eros, a rather mad mage who was drawn into Sargon's influence after the expulsion of his parents. They've had one son together, and though she finds him deplorable, she's considered another nest in the near future.
