Biography

♡ Emeria
she/her – botanist – no mate

Emeria always smells of the sweet flower meadow where she spends most of her afternoons. When she comes back, the pages of her notebook are always full with her newest botanical illustrations and notes.

Fittingly, Emeria was born in a Nature clan in the Everbloom Gardens. She grew up in the blue shade of tall trees and long, shifting grass. Sometimes, her parents would find her hiding in the meadows, using her deep green wings to shelter under the foliage. It was a great honour to be invited to Emeria's secret meadow hideout, for hatchling and dragon alike.

As she grew older, she spent hours a day drawing the plants of the Everbloom Gardens, always paying the most careful attention to note the shapes and colours, the distribution and the dates of bloom. As she grew to adulthood, this notebook became so expansive that she went to the museums with it, where she became highly respected as a botanist. Frequently, Emeria will leave home in the summer, with a straw hat and an enormous bag, full to the brim with botanical sketches, to discuss nature at the museum with her fellow scholars.

Back at home, Emeria is invaluable to the foragers of the clan. She knows exactly where to look and what is most delicious. The chefs appreciate her expert eye when they are too busy to search for ingredients themselves. They even let her do some cooking herself – though even Emeria herself must admit that this is a skill she needs much more practise with.

As well as helping out at home, she enjoys travelling to other regions to meet other botanists and make sketches – and she's always sure to bring back a basketful of delicious mushrooms as a souvenir of her trip.

She is intelligent and sociable, if a little blunt at times. The winter is a particularly difficult time for Emeria, when all the plants are dormant. Doing nothing makes her restless, so she fills her time with as many activities as possible. She runs activities for the hatchlings, teaching them about botany, taking them out to the meadows, and engaging them with the world they live in. She sometimes even takes them on trips to other territories – the parents trust that she won't lose their dragonets.

She has no problem with getting her claws dirty – it's what she spends most of her time doing, after all. For a dragon with so little fighting skill, Emeria has a lot of courage, and will often bother the scouters to let her accompany them on their patrols.

She hopes to share her passions with a mate one day. Between travelling, moving clans, and committing herself to botany, she has simply had no time for finding someone special. However, now that she is settled down in a clan, she spends more time talking to other dragons and learning about their interests. She hasn't found a mate yet, but she is happy to sketch in the meantime.
