Edval

Edval watched as the cliffs fell around him; faintly he could hear the petrified screams of his family, his friends, people who he would have once died for.

Well… looks like they would die for him, instead.


Edval was born in a rather small, rather quaint village on the beaches near the Light Domain. He lived a simple life, harvesting fish and such for his fellow residents to eat, helping the elderly with their basket weaving, etcetera etcetera.


However, that changed the day he arrived.

Dashing, Cunning, Clever Rouge. He was an Aberration from the other side of the sea, with a taste for fish. Him and Edval didn’t get along at first; they could barely stand a moment around each other without a fight breaking out. Luckily for the village, that soon changed, and the pair was inseparable.

…But of course things had to go wrong. Apparently, Rouge wasn’t very welcome there, something about being truly “plague-born”. Edval had been gone for a day, but that day was enough encouragement to take Rouge’s life.

None of the village survived the landslide that happened two days after, and Edval was already in the Wind Plateau when the neighboring towns realized his involvement.

There was nothing special about how he entered Scintillia, merely given a few passing glances. He avoided the kingdom’s resident aberrations, especially Pinkface; he just… he looked just like him.

Edval is, by far, one of the oldest in the kingdom. His feathers are molting, despite their remaining vibrance. He wears a sad scowl wherever he goes, known by the hatchlings as a crabby old man.

Though…

Every once in a while, a pale apparition will appear next to him, bearing two heads, one of which with a broken horn. His eyes, though barely visible, are filled with love.

At the end of the day, there is more pity for the elder than distaste.

close friends with a Dappled Dunhoof and an Enduring Goblin named Raina and Red, respectively. Though they've found companionship with other dragons, Edval, Raina, Red, and even Dandelion(Edval's foo) are very close, and often hang out together, with Edval even teaching the dunhoof Draconic.
