Silver Harp

Night brings calm cold,
Though the moon's face gleefully sits,
mocking my eyes below,
and lighting the clouds which drape around me.

Beyond my haven,
there is pain and there is darkness.
Beyond the grass and branches,
there are wolves and snakes.

I am encased in my petals,
soft and close,
eyelids shut like the midnight buds,
breaths like the near-still breeze blowing,
I sleep little then,
my mind towing
along thoughts of,
morning dew,
air anew to fill my lungs,
and color to splash my heart again.

The kiss of light bathes my eyes slow,
I am thanking the sunrise,
for dancing so peacefully,
and setting the mocking moon to bed.
My savior comes in golden light,
and brings to life my haven,
from the grave still of cold night.

The twinkle of water among the blossoms and leaves,
in the golden smile,
gifts my eyes violet and rose,
bouquets which bring my heart
to calm.
The scent of peace,
the sound of that safety,
reaches my senses.
They echo like the ripples of dripping water,
the little waves on the pond life surfaces
in a delicate strum.
In sum, a harp.
A harp sung in my heart,
keeping it contained,
in soft bars and joyful fears,
like that of meeting a new smile.

The day is full of sound,
buzz and whisper, hum and chirp,
the light permits them all to play,
yet I don't yield, no not today,
I can't add to their noise,
when the harp plays
above my voice.
A song which drips with harmony,
but slowly folds in forlorn melancholy.

My scales betray the moon's light,
my wings pray for their delight
and favor, while my eyes keep out
the graceful lonely night.
My hope lies beyond,
my haven's doors, my heart's gates,
shut once more,
when the harp sings away,
the sun the light of day,
and can't the warm gold stay,
with my smile in it's rays?

My tears cannot dry,
without your chiming light,
I cannot endure the night,
unless I feel your bliss again,
upon my face,
upon my heart,
my harp will sing,
the song of calm,
to bring the noise of morning,
into peace,
and the fears that plague my mind,
to keep them all at bay.

It strums alive like your presence,
aflutter my heart
like the rainbow visitors to each flower and leaf-blade,
stroke my petals open,
to see your gentle light,
and seek a shady summer song,
to slumber with in tranquility,
and linger longer into night,
where I might be not alone,
and welcome your small song
left alive in my home.

Brush the falling leaves from the ripened trees,
like the touch on my eyelids,
from the spring breeze,
a longing happiness and gentle love,
shared in a song,
below and above,
with your sound arising from hearts,
too golden and kind to ever hold mine,
together secure,
instead apart.

I seek my haven. I stay in shrub and meadow,
before shadow,
leads to twinkling evening,
and I must remain behind my door.
But through a song,
perhaps a gift,
of entwining amity belongs,
my heart, in a better met
serenity.

My harp strokes up and down,
to quell my face and lift it in a smile,
it sings for a little while,
"Stay my golden lighted love,
and wake my sanctuary.
Take my hand,
bid me to stand,
and take me to the rosemary..."
