Living Sacrifice

"Oh, transcendent light! My form aches, it craves to be more, to live through sacrifice, to become one with your ascendent brilliance. Take me, reform me through your vision. I will be so much more than dragon."

Vune's personality would best be described as... patchy. It seems his entire being has been given unto the Lightweaver, so that he has none left for himself. He speaks softly and moves weakly, slowly, shuffling on such as an animal lost in the snow. His tail drags the ground behind him, instead of being held out of the dirt as a self-valuing dragon might do. One might mistake him for a zombie, for his incessant, indecipherable grumbling, and for the bloodied rags that hang from his body.

He is mostly unresponsive. Whether this is by choice, or by an inability to do so caused by the deteriorating of his mind, is unknown. He seldom converses with any other dragon, prefering to live a life of solitude-- such is his penance. He lives to suffer, and has no interest in self-preservation. He even covers his face, in a symbolic effort to deprive himself of any identity. If he was a mistake, then he must rectify himself. He must not be himself anymore, he must become something more.

Vune's life was one of extreme indoctrination, living within the Daylight Dominion since before the imperial hunts began. He was extremely devoted to the Lightweaver, just as his family had wanted him to be. He gave up his everything for Her, even leaving his wife and family to become a scholar at the Cathedral of Eyes. After the Lightweaver declared imperials a mistake, unlike others of his kind, Vune was ecstatic. He had always known he was unworthy of Her Brilliance. Mother wanted him to be more than what he was, and he was happy to oblige.

He decided himself that he would transcend his current form, that he would give up his mortal strength and body to Her in hopes that she would gift him a new one, perhaps one more worthy of Her Light. He took to self-sacrificing to achieve this, through any means necessary. He would put himself through everything from bloodletting to fasting in order to achieve his goal. He lives constantly on the verge of death. But death, to him, is nothing more than change. Change into something more. Something brilliant. For this, he was appointed to the Illustrious Communion. Though he seeks enlightenment, none there wish to give it to him. To them, he is nothing more than a tool or a rescource.

To call Methamai and Vune friends would be to misunderstand their relationship. They enjoy helping eachother, however when it comes to actual relations, Methamai looks down upon Vune. Vune only comes to them in order to have them perform sacrifices or rituals using his body as a vessel. He gives unto them blood, horns, tufts of fur, even whole eyes or organs, so that Methamai may use them in their rituals.
