Helios never expected it to be so easy to integrate himself into the clan. Throughout his early life, he has hear from others how hard it was, how unwelcoming shadow clans were to outsiders; but this one, this one was so different from the stories. He felt drawn to it, his heart telling him that this was to be his charge, this clan was what he was supposed to protect. They were a small group then, just Thanatos, a few hatchlings and himself. Of course, most from those early days are gone now, but he remembers that time well, the difficulties, and the warmth.

Helios looks like he would be the grumpiest old man one could imagine; large and crackled, scales never having fully recovered their sheen from before he left in search of his charge. That's no more than his appearance though, because, to the members of the clan, he is a loving father figure. He's always the one to convince Thanatos to take in a hatchling, or let a stray dragon join their clan.
