Ryley is not your typical Lightning flight member! Assigned as 'non-essential systems maintenance', he chafed under the rules and regulations of the Shifting Expanse megacorp subcompany Alterra, always dreaming of more, of a life where he could find something he loved and was passionate about.

His opportunity came when his group, the Aurora group, was stranded on the shore of the sea. Ryley, much to his own surprise, immediately found an affinity for the ocean, enthusiastically exploring wherever and whenever he could. When the time came for him to return to a life under Alterra, Ryley decided to leave - he had fallen in love with the ocean, and he could no longer see a life for himself there.

Now, he spends his days exploring the oceans of Sornieth, just another of the denizens of the deep, and finally content in his life.
