Biography
Shijima's nest was a crowded one. Five little eggs nestled against each other, as if huddling from the cold, sharp breeze that whistled all around them. A proud father and a mother still panting from the exertion of laying stood above them, smiling.
Two males and three females hatched from the eggs. Shijima's first sight was that of her other Fae sister. The almost-twins grew close together, closer than any of the other siblings. They laughed together, ate together, and played in the snow together. They were the pride and joy of their parents, these two.
As they grew, it became obvious that their paths were going to split. Shijima's sister loved to hide in the dark, and had recently undertaken sleeping in the day and coming out at night. Shijima, however, had a deathly fear of the dark, and preferred the warmth of the fire to the cold of the Southern Icefield.
So, when they were old enough, they made the big decision of leaving home. Their parted ways was not in sadness, but in joy. Each was happy for the other--happy that her sister was going to a place that would make her happy.
But Shijima didn't know where she wanted to go. She just knew that the cold made her scales itch and her bones ache. Eventually, she decided to travel to Arcane, since she had recently developed an interest in magic.
She set off to the Starfall Isles in search of knowledge. She still had not a clue of what she wanted to become, job-wise that is. She certainly didn't want to be a loner. She loved the comfort of other dragons around her, and she never had the stomach for searching for live bugs.
So, having nothing better to do than study, she became invested in magic. It was obvious that she had a gift, right from the very beginning. It wasn't just that she was good at it; she had a passion for magic. Her abilities only grew as time went on.
Yet, she was still not happy. She would find herself staring at the stars late at night, wondering why... why was she here? She was especially susceptible to the magic in the air around her. Each breath in felt like pulling crackling honey into her lungs. She was vastly powerful within that domain, but she couldn't stand being there.
Once again, she switched homes. She walked steadily for a few weeks, and reached Dragonhome in good time and health. The dragons there were friendly towards her, but strangely distant. She felt like an outcast, though the denizens truly seemed to try to incorporate her. Dissatisfied, she moved on.
Years she spent, traveling between the lands of the gods. She learned every trade, tried every task, but each time she was left feeling unsatisfied. Her work was never truly complete.
Her heart was shifting from place, never settling in one area for awhile. She had no idea what she wanted to do. Shijima was always restless and unable to finish anything. She was despairing and falling into an endless cycle when she met Bleu.
She couldn't explain it if she wanted to. She just simply loved him--every part of him. His snorting laughter and soft-as-silk whisper. His gentle touch and warm gaze. She was swept up in a mad romance with the pirate dragon. She became his right-hand dragon, and all of his crew looked up to her.
His lifestyle suited her perfectly. Sailing across the Sea of a Thousand Currents became an everyday activity to her. The crew became like a second family. They stole, they plundered, they laughed at other's misfortune, but they would never kill.
One day, Bleu and Shijima stumbled upon a Guardian. At first, Bleu squabbled with the dragon, but soon backed off. As soon as he did, the fire dragon said that he was starting a clan and looking for members. He would need someone to be able to fish inside the Sea of a Thousand Currents, for where his clan was currently stationed, the water was so polluted that any fish that may have been living there had long since died. After a discussion on how much they would be paid, Bleu conceded.
So, Shijima can still be seen in the waves of the Tidelord, sometimes hauling in nets of fish, and sometimes cackling while fleeing an angry, freshly-robbed store-keeper. She'll occasionally visit Honoo's clan, though most of her time is admittedly spent in the Water lands. Bleu does more thieving than taking fish home to Honoo, but Shijima doesn't mind. She enjoys the quietness of the sea, and the gentle lapping against her boat. Just her and the sky.
Personality
Shijima is a mostly-unseen entity of Honoo's clan. She rarely visits the actual fire domain, since she feels so at home among the blustery sea now, though she does enjoy the warmth in the Ashfall Waste.
She often wonders what happened to her sister. Shijima remembers her tiny head and large eyes and how they would spark with mischief as she conceived a new plan. She will breathe in the salty air, and wonders if her sister breathes the same oxygen. Sometimes, she just seems so far away.
Shijima is a rowdy dragon, but can snap back to being quiet and respectful in an instant. Her volatile disposition has frightened off many a dragon, but it's one of the many things that Bleu loves so much about her. He knows that she can behave herself when in the presence of a superior, but can be rowdy and maybe pilfer something from a marketplace.
Her heart is as wild as ever, but instead of wanting to explore the world, she is content with the Sea of a Thousand Currents. She'll often dive for buried treasure, and when she inevitably comes up with a clawful of sand, she'll laugh and shrug before trying again.
She has always been a free spirit. She doesn't mind others being with her, but, without question, she thrives when she's alone. Bleu is the only dragon that truly works well with her.
Her magic is still swirling at her clawtips. She still will sometimes pick up an old, dusty tome, and a faint smile will flit across her lips. Her claws will brush again her robe and her hat will tilt down, hiding her face. It is as if she is remembering times of long past, and is mourning them. Perhaps she is.
So, next time you happen to glide across the Sea of a Thousand Currents, keep a sharp eye out for a small, purple Fae and her white Mirror mate.
It had been a cold, especially windy night. She and Bleu were striding along a town's cobbled street, gloating to one another about their latest victory over a particularly daft salesdragon. The wind whistled through the air, weaving whispers of woe within them. She shuddered suddenly, and opened her eyes wide to survey her surroundings.
Darkness greeted her. There was nothing there. But she could've sworn...
Bleu hissed suddenly, drawing back. Shijima's head whipped to where he had been looking at and gasped. A glowing figure with shifting patterns was staring directly towards them.
Bleu stood in front of Shijima, an automatic movement for him. Shijima growled slightly at him, circling to his side. He gave her one look, realization and then a swift apologetic look crossed his face. After this, he turned to face the encroaching stranger.
"Who goes there?" Bleu called out into the wind. His soft, boyish voice had grown stone-cold, and not even the angry gale could snatch his words away.
The dragon paused mid-step, as if frozen by Bleu's hostile voice. Then, wasting not a moment more, the fiery creature drew itself up and looked at the two straight in their eyes. "I am Honoo." He said, his gravelly voice blending into the cry of nature. "And I want you."

A Certain Windy Night
Shijima will never forget those eyes. They were warm, but commanding. Challenging, yet respectful. She remembers how she had once glared into their depths in defiance and anger.
