MossyRock

Uh-oh, looks like this Mossy Missus wandered a little too far from her home lair (Auralyx, #556616), and now she's off to see the world! If ever you feel the need to exalt, she'd really appreciate it if you could just return her to the home lair, or to the 'Dragons Off To See The World' thread, here. If you don't want another traveler in return, you can also drop her off at the Traveling Dragon Rest Hub! This is not necessary, but she would be very grateful!

MossyRock has never wanted anything more than to travel, and her mother and siblings can't convince her to do otherwise. Her father was exalted when she was young, and she doesn't remember his face, only that he left them for the Gladekeeper. She wants to prove to herself that there was a better way for him to leave, a way that meant he could somehow get back.

When MossyRock came to Crow Callers, she found an idea of what she could look like one day:

MossyRock came to the Mistral Clan in the Windswept Plataeu under heavy storms, but thankfully the clan was kind enough to lend her a room in the local inn. There she met many travelers who were also settling for the night, and enjoyed herself immensely as she listened to them all telling tales of their adventures (although she didn't believe half of what they were saying). She also met a pretty tundra named Akemi, and they became fast friends. She learned that she recorded all of the stories told in the inn every night and relayed them to her mother, who was the clan librarian. Her brother, she said, was a traveling dragon and they hoped to hear news of his whereabouts, but never did. After a few more days in the clan, MossyRock departed, and wished her new friend the best of luck in being reunited with her brother.

MossyRock made her way into Shadow territory. Luckily, the path she chose was relatively flat and clear, unlike most of the Tangled Wood. Eventually, she managed to reach the Dusk Sanctum. There, a clan of dragons lived, comprised of wanderers , researchers, and dragons of other various backgrounds. Most of members lived around the Dusk Sanctum, while the researchers lived closer to the main area, where they worked on understanding the shadow magic lying within.

MossyRock decided to talk to the first member she came across. This ended up being a tiny pink Veilspun by the name of Opal.

She explained her problems to the Veilspun, as well as asking about lodging in the area. Opal though for a bit, then took the Tundra to a few spare huts usually reserved for the fighters of the clan. Opal would have offered his own home, but a Tundra would NEVER fit in his tiny home!!

Opal didn't have much to offer in terms of help; he didn't know MossyRock's father, nor did he know of alternatives to exalting that would still allow a dragon to serve their deity in the same fashion. He noticed that MossyRock seemed self-conscious about her appearance, and while he reassured her that she looked fine, he also mentioned that nearly anything was possible! Why, just a few months ago, he was a Skydancer! Opal told her that he was certain that, along her journey, she would find her way.

He offered her some food during her stay, and then saw her off toward the border of the Shadow territory, wishing her safe travels.

MossyRock found her way to Dragonhome, a drab, parched landscape. Water wasn't easy to find. She nearly passed out from the summer heat and thirst.

Before that happened, she saw a bunch of train cars on the horizon. She hurried up to them and found it was a motel! She checked in for a night, paid the fee, and drank some of the water available at the concierge desk. From there, she wandered the area in search of food to forage.

A simple wild salad was her dinner that night. Her motel room was narrow but cozy, and she was able to leave refreshed in the morning.
