Biography
"Do you miss it?"
The Imperial's long ear swiveled in the direction of a young hatchling, one whose name he had not yet learned. His large head tilted downward to peer at the little one's large red eyes. "What would I miss?" he asked of the hatchling. His voice was slow and viscous. He was a very patient elder.
"Where you came from. We're Plague," spoke the small dragon, in reference to his siblings, "we have red eyes. Yours aren't red, they're teal."
A small smile played across Rift's muzzle and he lifted his head with his eyes closed to recollect the journeys and events that led him to this particular clan. "That they are," he said softly. When his eyes opened they were out of focus, as if instead he was watching an event happening far off in the distance. "It is because I am from the Shifting Expanse."
The hatchling's eyes widened in awe; a place he had never heard of, somewhere that sounded far away, and mysterious. "What was it like?"
Rift studied the hatchling a moment before recollecting. "Cliffs and gorges as far as your eyes could see. Tall formations of rock scattered the land. Rope of lightning twisted and snaked between towers that collected static and energy during inclement weather. In many areas it's arid - dry, with little moisture."
"Is it scary?" the hatchling asked in barely a whisper.
"I suppose it can be. But that could be said of any area of Sornieth. Many find our home scary."
