Their main purpose is to spread the infection, of course. What better way to do that than to take on the form of a dragon and walk where they please? No region is safe from the onslaught that is the offspring of Valeth and Xinew, and they’d be a much more serious threat if it were not for the fact that there’s only two of them and Sorineth is as vast as the sky is blue.

Oh, and some of the ‘hatchlings’ occasionally do form minds of their own.

(Additional lore: Healer who lives in Nature territory and is incredibly self conscious about being a Plague dragon out of fear of being turned away when they just want to help. Makes a conscious effort to hide their eyes behind thick green goggles. They can heal diseases but does so by absorbing them into their body. Potentially can lead to Galen one day unleashing a terrible super disease, but they don't know that. Once they do learn the truth, they have a sort of internal crisis...

Alternatively, there's no super disease and Galen just heals by taking others' sickness or disease into their body and dealing with the symptoms themself.)
