Their bond is strong, and Caelum has no intentions or thoughts to leave the laboratory. It believes it has everything it needs right where it is.

BUNNY
xxx ■ Snake’s second experiment and a companion in the lab (that is, before Bunny fled). Though Bunny had no intentions of staying, they were a nice companion to talk to and gossip with before they left.

Caelum’s story with Snake, from a 3rd-person perspective:

Snake’s first experiment was Caelum. Finding them in the woods was a surprise, as they appeared to be a deceased human hybrid creature in his 20’s. They were a person with the broken wings of a dragon, a long serpent-like tail, and dragon hind legs. Snake worked extensively to revive the creature, and because of the creature’s unique properties and Snake’s drastic methods and measures, he was successful.

When Caelum awoke, they were rather dazed at first, but after having the situation described to them, they remembered their name and what had happened to them. They vaguely explained that they had been unable to fly for their entire life, and their family were growing tired of it. Their siblings were instructed to take them up the tallest tree they could find to motivate Caelum to finally fly. When Caelum climbed up there and grew cold feet, they were pushed off in irritation—where they fell to their death, their wings taking most of the blow. Caelum perished on impact, and with nothing they could do, their siblings left.

Caelum was devastated that Snake had to remove their wings, as they had taken far too much damage to be repaired. Caelum grew close to Snake and helped out around the lab, and through this bond, Snake learned that Caelum had gender dysphoria, and despite not using any specific labels, did not identify with their birth gender and preferred to be referred to by they/he/it pronouns. Snake operated on Caelum and gave it top surgery to help it be more comfortable in its identity. Caelum could often be seen in comfy, baggy clothing around the lab and stuck around willingly. Snake had been working on a mechanical pair of wings to surprise Caelum and help them achieve their dream of flying.
