Mikhail Alexandrovich Berlioz -- approximately 40, grey summer suit, short, dark-haired, plump, bald, respectable fedora in hand, neatly shaven face, black horn-rimmed glasses of supernatural size. High tenor (i think). Doesn't smoke.

Ivan Nikolaevich Ponyrev -- broad-shouldered young man, tousled reddish hair, chequered cap cocked back on his head, cowboy shirt, wrinkled white trousers, black sneakers. Rasping voice (i think). Pert green eyes. Fond of whimsical and figurative expressions such as "100%" as a synonym to "yes". Smokes cigarettes, favourite brand is Our Brand.

2nd desc. -- short, gold teeth, limped on right leg.

3rd desc. -- enormously tall, platinum crowns, limped on left leg

4th desc. -- no distinguishing marks

5th desc. -- no limp, neither short or enormous, simply tall, teeth had platinum crowns on left side and gold on right. Expensive grey suit, imported shoes of matching colour. Grey beret cocked rakishly over one ear. Under his arm he carried a stick with a black knob shaped like a poodle's head. Looked a little over 40. Mouth somehow twisted. Clean shaven. Dark-haired. The word "Professor" printed in foreign type on the card, and the initial of his last name, "W".

Pontius Pilate -- white cloak with blood-red lining, shuffling gait of a cavalryman. Yellow teeth. Has a dog called Banga. Shaven face.
